Spanish in the Mall

So I was in the mall and there were these Spanish people in front of me. They were talking really fast but i caught some cognates and they used the ser words. I didn't understand any of it though except when they were talking with their hands and were pointing to how cute a pair of earrings were. I felt creepy for staring so I left.
