Spanish in a Book.

I was reading my free reading book when I came across spanish! The main character's new neigherbor said, "No es Papa guapo!" He was talking about someone on the television when he said this. As I continued to read farther into the book, I discovered this neighbor was apart of an indian group from Mexico. As she explained some of the morals she lives by in her life to Delia, I even learned a little more about spanish culture. She continuesly spoke of different gods: a healing god, a sun god, a moon god, any god you would possibly need. Delia found all of this a little insane, just like all of us who are just learning about spanish culture. In one incident, Delia's daughter was sick but the neighbor didn't allow them to call the doctor. Instead she prayed to the healing god, and she began to recover. Who knew I would learn about spanish culture in an ordinary english book!
